Crafty Kingdom One More Time

Oh my poor neglected craft blog.... Shame on me.

Out of the ashes of my former life, Crafty Kingdom rises....again. Why do I feel like I have written this before? Oh right, maybe because I have, more than once. Well, here we go again.

Castle Taylor's second bedroom is serving as my craft room (aka Crafty Kingdom). It's almost done with the exception of some additional shelving Dad says he will help me with. Here are a couple pictures of it's present state:

The twin book shelves Dad made for me are here. One damaged during the move has been repaired.

A folding table serves as my craft surface. That window lets in excellent natural light. My bird feeder is positioned within view of the window as is my beautiful yellow rose bush. That bush survived some major ordeals to get here including being eaten by deer and having a sewing machine fall on it.... I have dubbed it 'the miracle rose' because it really should be dead.

Papers etc., currently inside the closet. That may change when I have more shelving. Not sure yet.

Although I've had a little trouble getting my crafty mojo going lately (focused on my job search and a shiny object that has landed unexpectedly in my path), I am sure it will eventually kick in and Crafty Kingdom will be enjoyed again. I'm going to make a point of making that happen in the near future.

My First Loom-Knitted Hat

My stamp supplies are in storage for the time being. Fortunately I have some craft activities that take up much less space. I brought my knitting looms and yarn with me to my temporary abode. This weekend I made my first hat. I think it turned out pretty good if I do say so myself.

I had just been telling a friend the other day that I can not wear hats well. I feel like they make me look like a round-faced 12 year old.

Being excited about my accomplishment, I threw caution to the wind and went ahead and took a picture of myself in my freshly knitted hat even though I knew, I can't wear hats.

Now the even funnier part. I posted my pic on Facebook and my friend Rick (Lord bless him) pointed out my resemblance to Meg Griffin.

So......... a round-faced cartoon character then. Awesome!

Don't worry, I am laughing.
Yes, I will be making more hats. I will need them when I move to NC rather they look good on me or not.
